Although users of the Mac OS Leopard may be excited about Time Machine, it’s not a great option for portable Mac users like myself. We can’t have our laptops always connected to a hardrive for hourly behind the scene backups. I personally used Super Duper with Tiger, and once it’s Leopard compatible I’ll use it again for cloned backups, but if you’d like a free option for making backups that are easy to do and to restore with a program that is free (donations are encouraged) try iBackup. I chose to backup my home folder, applications, system settings and application settings. If my computer is acting up, I can reinstall Leopard, install iBackup, and restore all my settings, music, videos, and documents with the click of one button. Check out iBackup
