aMSN and iSight camera

If you’re a new Macinstosh owner you obviously are aware of the new built in iSight camera on your machine. If you have an AIM or .Mac account you can use iChat with this camera and utilize video chat. Now if you’ve downloaded mac messenger you may have noticed that is does not support webcam use. And you may think hmm, what a waste, I have a built in web cam, but I’m limited to one program to use it. Perhaps you don’t have any friends or family using AIM, and we all know that probably the most popular chat clients out there is MSN.

In steps aMSN an MSN clone that recognizes your isight camera, and enables users to video chat. I downloaded this program yesterday and immediately sent a request to view my webcam to a friend. Worked without any configuring. If you are currently using your gmail account to log into MSN (as I am), it also works with aMSN.

FYI dude, this post is almost two years old, I didn’t develop the application so perhaps you should email the developer. It work two years ago when I used it.

Get an AIM account and use iChat, it’s simple. You could also try Google Video Chat or Skype, all free and cross platform (Windows/Mac)
